Titration Schedule Math: Steps, Durations and Start Dates

A titration schedule, as DoseWyz computes it, is a list of steps. Each step has an amount and a duration in weeks. The only other input is a start date, and every date in the schedule comes from adding step durations to it.

The arithmetic

• Step 1 begins on the start date.
• Each later step begins on the date the step before it began, plus that step's duration in weeks × 7 days.
• Within a step, entries repeat every 7 days from its first day until its duration ends.
• Only the last step may have no duration. An open-ended step repeats every 7 days with no end date.

Worked example: three steps, the last one open-ended

These are illustrative round numbers, not amounts for any product.

Inputs: a start date of 2027-01-04 and three steps. Step 1 is 20 mg for 2 weeks, step 2 is 30 mg for 3 weeks, and step 3 is 40 mg with no duration.

• Step 1 begins on 2027-01-04; its entries fall on 2027-01-04 and 2027-01-11.
• 2027-01-04 plus 2 weeks (14 days) computes to 2027-01-18, the date step 2 begins; its entries fall on 2027-01-18, 2027-01-25 and 2027-02-01.
• 2027-01-18 plus 3 weeks (21 days) computes to 2027-02-08, the date step 3 begins. Step 3 has no duration, so its entries continue every 7 days with no end date: 2027-02-08, 2027-02-15, 2027-02-22 and onward.
